Understand the difference between a public conversation, an activated trial workspace, and a paid website on the studio's own domain.

Choose the publishing level
Keep the current site live during evaluation
Use the public conversation and founding workspace to evaluate direction. Do not change the existing domain simply because a direction has been generated.
Activate the card-backed trial
Verified email, a card, and successful Stripe activation begin the 14-day trial. Trial pages include the Page by Patsy attribution.
Prepare a custom domain on a paid plan
Custom-domain preparation on Essential and Studio validates the domain entry, provides exact DNS records, and keeps the domain pending while you review them. The photographer makes the external DNS change and completes final verification manually.
Protect the current business during a move
Keep the old site live until testing is complete
Test forms, mobile layouts, core pages, analytics, and important search URLs on the new site before changing the domain.
Record DNS and email settings
A domain can carry website, email, verification, and other records. Changing nameservers without preserving required records can interrupt email even when the website works.
Plan redirects
Map important old URLs to the closest useful new page. Redirect coverage and migration support depend on the source platform and should be confirmed before cutover.
